FIT for Charity Run
7 November 2010
Following last year, RBS Japan sponsored FIT for Charity Run in 2010. More than 100 runners from RBS Japan participated in the run / walk and 11 volunteers supported the event.
FIT For Charity once again set records for participation with 6,716 individuals from 101 financial services and related foreign and domestic organisations coming together to raise a record of approximately JPY68 million for local causes.

About forty volunteers from RBS Japan participated in an activity organized by Second Harvest Japan (a specified non-profit organization) where they served food to people in need. This activity provides the opportunity for volunteers to cook food donated by corporations and farms and serve it directly to people in need of food. During the few days of activity, RBS volunteers were in charge of nine sessions that ranged from cooking to serving food. Soup, croquettes, and bread for 2,000 people were prepared and distributed to more than 1,100 people living on the streets.

Odawara City to Lake Yamanaka
Oxfam Trailwalker is a worldwide walking event in which teams of four compete. RBS Japan participated in this event like it did in the previous year and the four teams from RBS donated JPY2,183,404 in total. In terms of amounts of corporate donation, RBS ranked No.4.
In 2010, 174 teams participated in this event and raised approximately JPY50 million. Oxfam, an international cooperation organization, uses donations for international cooperation activities to help people overcome poverty.
FIT for Charity Run

Following last year, RBS Japan sponsored the event in 2009. 80 runners from the Royal Bank of Scotland, Tokyo Branch and RBS Securities Japan participated in the run / walk and 8 volunteers supported the event.
In 2009, FIT For Charity once again broke records for participation, as 5 183 individuals from 97 financial services and related foreign and domestic organisations came together to raise approximately JPY 59.4 million for six local charities.

RBS Driver Day
The Tyler Foundation is dedicated to making life better for kids with cancer in Japan and their families and is supported entirely by private and corporate donations. As part of RBS sponsorship & CSR activities, F1 driver, Kazuki Nakajima who was the driver for AT & T Williams at the time visited the "Shine On! House". Over 10 people including 5 outpatients spent time with Kazuki and made craft car together. Kazuki gave children stuffed teddy bears to encourage children.
On the same night, Kazuki Nakajima appeared at RBS F1 cocktail party as a guest of honour. He donated his own racing helmet and gloves for the charity auction that was held during the party. The auction raised JPY 420,000. RBS added extra JPY 1 million so the total of JPY 1,420,000 was donated to the Tyler Foundation.

The challenge is to get your team of four across 100km of the mountains of southern Japan in 48 hours - and to raise at least JPY120,000 per team to help overcome poverty and suffering around the world. 5 RBS Japan teams participated and the total amount of funds raised by RBS was JPY2,339,305 (approximately 16,000GBP).

RBS Japan sponsored the event. 46 runners and 12 volunteers participated on the day. 4,761 participants from 77 financial and related organisations raised JPY 58 million, including donations from 49 sponsors 2 supporters.
The Financial Industry in Tokyo (FIT) for Charity Run was established in 2005 to provide an opportunity for people in the financial and related industries to come together to support community organizations, many of which are insufficiently funded and not well recognized for the good work they do. We sponsor the event and supports.

RBS Japan sponsored check point 7 and 8 where we supplied food and drinks as well as stretch service and some nap space for walkers and volunteers.
The total amount of JPY70,497,250, approx GBP 335,000 was raised by 200 teams and it will be used to support Oxfam projects around the world such as emergency aid to Darfur and Sudan, long term community development in Cambodia, India and South Africa, etc. RBS teams raised JPY2,800,000, GBP 13,200.
