Junko Nishioka, Head of Research, Japan and Chief Economist, is responsible for research and analysis of Japanese economy. Before joining RBS Securities Japan in July 2008, she worked at ABN AMRO Securities (2007-2008), Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (2006-2007) and Bank of Japan (2002-2006). Nishioka joined the Industrial Bank of Japan, currently Mizuho financial group, in April 2000, where she started working as Economist of domestic and international economies.

Nishioka brings a wealth of personal and work related experiences that allow her to accurately assess market trends and help RBS clients to manage their investment strategies. She graduated from the Graduate School of Economics / Faculty of Economics, Kyoto University. She was ranked eighth in the Annual Nikkei Veritas Fixed Income Economy Ranking in March 2011.

Akito Fukunaga

Akito Fukunaga is Chief Rates Strategist and is responsible for research and analysis of JGBs and other JPY Fixed Income products. Before joining RBS Securities Japan in June 2010, he worked at Credit Suisse Securities as Fixed Income Strategist. Before that, he worked at AIG Star Life as an actuary. Fukunaga has been providing unique investment strategies, including relative value trades, quantitative analysis, and real money demand analysis. He obtained a master’s degree in physics from the University of Tokyo. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Japan (IAJ). He was ranked tenth in the Annual Nikkei Veritas Fixed Income Bond Analyst Ranking in March 2011.

Yoshinori Shigemi

Yoshinori Shigemi is Non-Yen Strategist responsible for providing non-JPY investment strategies for Japanese investors. Before joining RBS Securities Japan in September 2011, he worked for Nomura Asset Management Singapore Limited (2007-2011) & Nomura Asset Management Co. Ltd. (2006-2007), serving as fixed income portfolio manager. He started his career in the Norinchukin Bank in April 2002. He holds an MA in economics from Graduate School of Economics, Osaka University.

Yusuke Ikawa

Yusuke Ikawa is Rates Strategist responsible for research and analyst of Japanese government bonds (JGBs) and other Japanese-yen-denominated (JPY) Fixed Income products. Before joining RBS Securities Japan in May 2011, Mr. Ikawa worked at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC as a consultant in the financial service industry. Before that, he was with Nomura Securities Co., LTD, where he worked in the International Rates Products department first as a Trader, then in Sales. He is a Chartered Member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan. Mr. Ikawa obtained a master degree’s in mathematics from the University of Tokyo.
